I made this for my son’s 18th birthday. He loved it. This was the most enjoyable project I’ve made, even though it took me weeks! No electricity used, apart from lighting and some Beatles tunes 🙂
Top and drawer fronts are Tasmanian Huon Pine and the rest is ‘Tasmanian Oak’ (not an oak, but a hardwood produced by three trees native to Tasmania, Australia – Eucalyptus regnans, Eucalyptus obliqua or Eucalyptus delegatensis).
I lined the drawer bottoms with a layer of split pigskin leather, glued to the bottom before sliding into the grooves.
Finished with three coats of good quality ‘Danish oil’ and polished with beeswax/carnauba furniture wax.
Thanks to Paul and his team for another brilliant project and videos.
Regards
Adam
