I made a bench stool, based on Paul’s design with some tweaks.
I widened the legs and shortened the seat from front to back. The front legs don’t lean as much and the back legs lean out a lot more.
This gives three different angles of legs to worry about, but I think I did OK.
The bench is made of pine with shellac seal coat and two coats of flat latex paint. I might coat again with shellac or polyurethane as it seems to attract dust.

This is just going to be for working at the bench, so I figured that was close enough to smooth.

The legs were made long on both ends on purpose. I trimmed them to length when the frame was glued up.
Then I shaped the legs. I just hacked away until I got something I thought looked OK.

One of the legs looks like it has a through tenon but that is where I had a part break out and I had to glue in a patch and fill with some epoxy. This is why I paint things 😉
So, there you have it.

I’ve still gotta make one (or more) of those planes and I’d like to make the stool later.
