Gallery Goodness, 18th July 2018
Thank you everyone! We’ve had another good couple of weeks of gallery submissions. You can see all of the photographs below.
Workbench by jrmacias
My take on the workbench…
Lapping Stone Case by jrmacias
Needed a simple case for the lapping stone, so used some reclaimed pine from the scraps pile.
Occasional Table by Chason Hayes
White oak. I followed the instructions in the book. This was my first functional piece of furniture and I use it to hold a lamp in my bedroom.
Workbench by Richard Burton
Workbench made pine 4×2’s. Took a long time to build but sure beats working on a wobbly black and decker workmate! Was a great learning experience and really enjoyed the build.
Baby Blanket Chest by Mark Dennehy
Faux-jacobian frame-and-panel blanket chest in oak sized for baby blankets as a gift for a coworker who’d just had his first child. Drawbored mortise and tenon joints, low relief carving, tongue-and-grooved cedar base, finished with Osmo wood wax and beeswax.
Desk Shelf by Mark Dennehy
Small desk shelf in american black walnut with sycamore stringing in a line-and-berry style, poplar feet with walnut stringing. Finished with osmo wood wax and renaissance wax.
Desk Shelf by Mark Dennehy
Small desk shelf in american black walnut. Carved endgrain and cut nails as decorative elements. Finished in button shellac.
Stringing Gauge by Mark Dennehy
Simple marking gauge style of stringing groove cutter in offcuts of american black walnut and white oak using a lie nielsen cutter. Simple little tool, but the first one I’ve made in the shed if you don’t count jigs like the shooting boards and bench hooks and the like.
Utility Stand by Bob Blarney
just a humble stand for laundry baskets, made from one 1×8 common pine board 6ft long
Table by 5ivestring
Arcabo wood, granite top
Carrying Tote by glasertl
Maple with oak handle. Three coats of shellac and one coat of wax.
Rocking Chair by PatRick Monaghan
Craftsman style rocking chair
Occasional Table by Craig Medvecky
Walnut and dogwood. Not a Paul project but made using the confidence and skills learned from Paul’s videos and blog.
Dovetail Box by Peter Gaffney
Red Oak and Poplar Dovetail box with a housing dado divider. Finished with clear shellac and wax. I made this for a silent auction my wife was having for her school choir. Couldn’t compete with the coupon for hair styling but it had the most bids. Ha!
Wine Cabinet by Chris
Different take inspired by Paul’s tool cabinet. Made from cherry.
Carrying Tote by Michael Chatzipetrosr
Pine – old broom for handle – finished with linseed oil
