Gallery Goodness, 26th April 2017
Spring has sprung here at the workshop. Lambs and rabbits are haring about in the local fields, and the building is a hive of activity as Paul and students begin the third day of a six-day woodworking class. The Gallery has been similarly busy, with plenty of submissions over the last few days. Keep scrolling for the latest batch of creations, and check out the gallery link above for a copious collection of inspiring works.
Thank you to all of you who took the time to share your work!
Joiner’s Toolbox by cragglerockToolbox loosly based on the original design. I made this for my eldest son from his old bunk bed he had when he lived at home so I was restricted by the material available! Is it perfect? No not by a long chalk but whilst I’ve been woodworking for a while this is my first completely hand made thing and my first hand cut dovetails. |

Writing Desk by bytespliceWriting desk using 3/4″ maple based on the sofa table project . This is my first project with all hand-cut mortise and tenons. The top is 40″x20″ on a 36″x17″ base with 1-3/4″ legs tapered to 1″. The center rail was moved to the rear legs for comfort, and two 12-1/2″x15″ dovetailed drawers added. Finished with water based polyurethane. |
Rebate Plane by Donn SwordI used oak pallet wood for this plane. I’ve been looking locally for one without luck so when someone gave me a broken chisel I had to make this. Thank you Paul for all the inspiration. |
Spoon by rotarywOak wood, finished with peanuts seeds oil |
Occasional Table by btyremanThis is my first Table, made from Redwood Pine. I chose the simpler shaker style tapered legs. It is finished with several layers of pure tung oil. I plan to make another one soon to match it with a pair. It was a great learning experience. |
